With 150mg of organic hemp CBD, organic aloe vera, organic hemp seed oil, and organic rose essential oil, the REMOVE – Foaming Cleanser is sure to leave your client’s skin feeling clean and refreshed without being harsh or drying the skin out. It can be applied to a dry face and massaged into the skin for about 30 seconds. Then add water and continue to massage and emulsify into a lather.

BRIGHT – Eye Cream

With a creamy and smooth application, the BRIGHT – Eye Cream is definitely easy on the eyes. CBD Spa Products for the Body

EASE – Full Spectrum Massage Oil

EASE – Full Spectrum Massage Oil contains 200mg of organic full-spectrum oil, organic sesame seed oil, organic hemp seed oil, and organic arnica oil. We also added organic jojoba oil for additional moisturizing properties, leaving skin soft and hydrated. It goes on smooth from head to toe. And we love that a little goes a long way in the product so that you can get more out of each bottle! Since it contains full-spectrum oil, you get some additional benefits from the hemp plant, too.

BALANCE – Pure CBD Massage Lotion

For those who prefer to work with massage lotion over massage oil, try out our BALANCE – Pure CBD Massage Lotion. It contains 200mg of organic hemp CBD, organic grape seed oil, organic hemp seed oil, and organic almond oil. We also added organic lavender for a subtle, yet relaxing scent and organic shea butter for additional moisturizing properties, so skin stays hydrated.

SOOTHE–Scalp Treatment

When we say Color Up products can be used from head to toe, we mean it! Our SOOTHE–Scalp Treatment is an excellent, more natural way to treat a dry or itchy scalp, or to simply give your noggin a little extra moisture! It contains 50mg of organic hemp CBD, algae extract, sea buckthorn extract, horse chestnut extract, and sage extract. We added menthol for a refreshing and cooling effect along with organic patchouli and bergamot essential oil for a relaxing scent. It can be used as a spot treatment or on the entire scalp!

Is All CBD Created Equal?

tray with CBD tea and cannabis leaves

CBD is becoming more popular all the time and you may be finding CBD products sold at grocery stores, gas stations, and online. You may even be seeing CBD ads on Facebook. As an informed consumer, you should know that not all CBD is created equal! How do you know if the CBD is high-quality? Is the CBD is safe to consume? What CBD products are the best? There are many factors to consider when evaluating the quality of CBD used in the wide variety of products available to consumers. At Color Up, we take the quality of our products very seriously. Allow us to drop a little knowledge on you so that you can feel confident when choosing your CBD products.

Evaluating CBD Products

Let’s talk about the difference between CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD so that as a consumer, you know what you’re getting.

Full Spectrum CBD vs. CBD Isolate

Full spectrum CBD contains CBD as well as other molecules of the cannabis plant, like terpenes and less recognized cannabinoids such as CBC, CBN, CBC, etc. Consuming full spectrum CBD allows for the terpenes and cannabinoids to work together synergistically, creating what is known as the entourage effect. Full spectrum CBD contains 0.3% or less THC.

CBD isolate is usually labeled as being 99% or more pure CBD. CBD isolate, as the name would suggest, has been isolated to just the CBD molecule with no other active components. The isolate itself will look like a white powder and can be used in various ways. It can be mixed with a carrier oil and placed in capsules or made into a tincture, added into topical salves, or even added to consumable products like beverages or candy.

Color Up has products available containing either CBD isolate or full spectrum CBD, so you can choose which one best suits your needs. Color Up Pure products are available for those who want CBD isolate and Full Spectrum products for those who are looking for additional cannabinoids.

How Is The CBD Extracted?

The way CBD is extracted does matter when discussing the quality of the product. There are a few ways CBD can be extracted from the plant.

Solvent Extraction

This type of extraction method uses a solvent such as ethanol, propane, or butane to extract the CBD from the plant. This is one of the cheapest ways to do it; however, it is not always the safest. Using these highly flammable liquids can spell disaster if not done correctly. This process is also dangerous for consumption due to the solvent residue that can be left in the final product. Some studies have found that when tested, many of the cheaper CBD products on the market contain unsafe amounts of solvents.

CO2 Extraction

CO2 extraction uses CO2 as the solvent which is safer because it is easier to remove from the extract. At Color Up, all of our phytocannabinoids are pulled through CO2 extraction, which is the most advanced, healthiest, and cleanest means of extracting cannabinoids. It is a process that uses pressurized carbon dioxide to pull the desired chemicals from a plant and acts like a solvent, without any danger of harmful contamination. Many CBD companies do not use this method because it requires a large investment in equipment upfront to be able to produce the highest-quality, safest, and cleanest CBD extract.

Fractional Distillation

This process is a solvent-free way to obtain a pharmaceutical grade CBD product free of THC. The primary goal of fractional distillation is to separate the chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant so that THC can be removed, leaving CBD that does not produce a “high” effect. Color Up uses this process for our Pure CBD products.

Does Your CBD Product Have a COA?

What is a COA, and why is it important for CBD products? A COA, or Certificate of Analysis, is a document that comes from an accredited lab showing the amount of the various cannabinoids in a product and ensures that it is free from mold and other toxins. Every batch of each product should be sent to a 3rd party lab for testing to verify the quality and purity.

At Color Up, we not only send our products out to a 3rd party to be tested, but we take it one step further and send samples of each batch to be tested ourselves (4th party) to verify against the 3rd party tests. Guaranteeing a highly concentrated, pure, and pesticide-free product is at the foundation of our company. Click here to see our product COAs.

Shelf Stability of CBD Products

All CBD products, especially those that are consumed internally, should be shelf-stable, meaning you know if and when they “expire” and are no longer safe use. If CBD products contain another ingredient that expires or if the CBD itself contains harmful bacteria, it can be dangerous to consumers. The approval of shelf stability is required in Denver, CO, and all Color Up products are approved

Consume CBD Safely with Color Up

Color Up aims to evoke the body’s natural ability to heal through natural and plant-based, cruelty-free CBD products intended to balance the mind, body, and spirit. In doing so, we ensure that all of our products are of the highest standards. Facebook Relaxes on CBD Advertising Restrictions

Facebook has loosened its restrictions for CBD companies that want to advertise their products. Facebook still prohibits ads for ingestible CBD or ads that direct to a landing page containing products with ingestible CBD. Although Facebook hasn’t clearly stated a new policy, many people are finding that their ads for CBD topicals are allowed to stay. This was not always the case, but it is exciting to see the progress being made! Let’s take a look at the past, present, and future of Facebook ads for CBD products.

CBD Ads in the Past

In the past, Facebook would not allow advertisements that included mentions of anything CBD related, whether it was topical or ingestible. An article on The Verge explains that many CBD companies were having their Facebook business ads account disabled after putting up ads for their products. However, the 2018 Farm Bill (aka Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018) was passed, reclassifying hemp and making it legal to grow industrial hemp and making hemp-derived CBD products that do not contain THC legal. This finally gave hemp growers eligibility for many USDA programs, defining hemp as containing 0.3 or less THC, the psychoactive portion of the cannabis plant.

CBD Ads on Facebook Today

Presently, some people are still having their CBD related ads banned by Facebook, but not all of them. Facebook seems to have relaxed its ban on certain CBD products, specifically topical ones but hasn’t explicitly stated its official stance (major gray area..) An article on Digiday published in late June 2019 states that a spokesperson from Facebook emailed a Digiday representative stating, “our policy remains the same: We don’t allow people to promote CBD or ingestible hemp on Facebook. The update to non-ingestible hemp was made months ago.” It doesn’t specifically say so on Facebook’s Advertising Policies Page, but it does state as of October 2019 that “Ads must not promote the sale or use of unsafe supplements, as determined by Facebook in its sole discretion.” That means FB can still decide to take down a CBD ad if they feel like it, but the likelihood is very low if it is for topical (non-ingestible) CBD hemp products.

This change of heart may have been prompted by a combination of the 2018 Farm Bill in combination with the SAFE Banking Act of 2019 (Secure And Fair Enforcement Banking Act). This act is intended to ensure access to financial services for cannabis-related legitimate businesses and service providers to reduce the amount of cash at such businesses. The SAFE Act of 2019 is a huge step in the right direction, and perhaps Facebook felt like if the banks could be involved with CBD companies, then they could, too.

The Future of CBD Ads

With continued growth within the CBD industry, there is hope that in the near future, Facebook will have more clearly stated policies on CBD advertising that allow advertising of any product containing CBD (fingers crossed!). The use of CBD topically and orally is becoming more widespread and accessible, and the companies that sell these beneficial products desire the ability to freely advertise their products through FB. It is doubtful this social media giant will continue to miss out on the ways they will benefit from allowing all CBD advertisements.

Press Release: The Team Behind Denver’s First CBD Wellness and Education Center Launches New 12,000-square foot Campus.

DENVER – January 2019 – On the heels of the U.S. Farm Bill being signed into law, the founders of Denver’s first CBD education center open a new, expansive campus for the community. Located at 2191 S. Broadway in Downtown Denver, the Color Up Therapeutics’ CBD Wellness & Education Center is the city’s largest facility dedicated to education on CBD and Cannabinoids in Denver. The 12,000-square-foot campus includes an art gallery, demo kitchen, retail store, spa treatment rooms and event spaces featuring Cyclorama Walls.

“Our intention with the Wellness & Education Center is for it to be the place everyone visits to learn how to incorporate cannabis into a healthy and balanced lifestyle,” says Color Up Therapeutics’ CBD Wellness & Education Center Co-owner Shauna Blanch. Blanch is also the Co-owner and COO of CBD-product brand Color Up Therapeutics.

Housed in a former warehouse, the multi-use Center is industrial in design with open piping, high ceilings, seating areas and desks, neutral walls and dark gray flooring. Color Up Therapeutics’ lab and manufacturing is on-site, which, Bryce Conley says is unique, “Color Up Therapeutics is one of the few lifestyle brands where products are made from scratch. We do our research, formulating, manufacturing and packaging in-house at the Center.” Conley is Color Up Therapeutics’ Co-founder and CFO.

The CBD Wellness & Education Center also includes:

  • A retail space with an experience table for product demos and licensed estheticians offering guidance on how to create a healthy daily regimen. Color Up Therapeutics’ products, yoga supplies and local jewelry and art are available in the store.
  • A spa treatment room where services using Color Up products are offered. Built with the intention to bring joy and connection into the community, the Color Up team encourages therapists, artists and all wellness professions to practice in the Center. Treatments may be booked online.
  • A large kitchen that will be used to host CBD-infused cooking classes, yoga & dinner parties, etc.
  • Two event rooms for yoga classes and workshops. The rooms include Cyclorama Walls, which create unique settings for weddings, movie showings, and light / laser installments. “We invite photographers, videographers and bloggers to shoot in our facility,” adds Blanch. “Additionally, we built a professional podcast room as a place for people to have their voices heard.”
  • And, Fido can come along! The campus is pet friendly; animal rescue events and classes are to come about the benefits of CBD for animals.

To set the scene for showcasing the vast collection of local art on-site, an Opening Art Gallery Reception is set for Feb. 8. February also holds the first class being taught at the new campus. Geared toward estheticians, massage therapists and other licensed professionals, a Product Knowledge Training is Feb. 18. “Through this class, attendees will supply their professional tool belt with all that is needed to thrive in the world of CBD in a skin care, massage and spa setting,” says Color Up Therapeutics’ Director of Education Emily Davis.“Of course,‘Love is in the Care’ in February. All things self-love and self-care will be taught too.” Registration is online.

Open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. M-F and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sat. and Sun. with events happening many evenings, the official Grand Opening is planned for the spring. More information about Color Up Therapeutics’ CBD Wellness & Education Center is available online and by calling 720.420.1734.

Incorporating CBD into a Healthy Lifestyle

Meditation, exercise, diet, supplements, and therapy: these are all standard ways that people seek a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Today, though, many constituents of the cannabis plant are finding their way into mainstream wellness regimens, and Cannabidiol is one of the most popular therapeutic components being utilized. CBD is non-intoxicating and will not get the user high like THC, but it is a powerful mood-altering compound that can impact the entire body in positive ways. It has been shown to regulate inflammation, pain, anxiety, sleep, skin health, and immune system function, to name a few…

DENVER – October 2018 – As consumer sales of CBD are expected to approach $2 billion in the United States by 2020*, Color Up Therapeutics is poised to be a solid player in the industry. Color Up Therapeutics is the first CBD-infused brand on the market with an advanced comprehensive skin care line, as well as a full facial protocol for both professionals and at-home care. With nine skin care products so far, the plant-based, cruelty-free CBD products are intended to balance the mind, body, and spirit.

The Colorado-brand was founded by a team of three who have backgrounds in science and product formulation. A love for animals and their wellbeing is what prompted the co-founders to begin a journey with CBD-infused products. “We started making CBD products when our dog Kali was diagnosed with cancer. The experience with extending Kali’s life, combined with success stories from those who were trying our products for animals, led us to growing the brand into internal and body care products in 2017 and skin care in 2018,” says Color Up Therapeutics’ Co-owner and COO Shauna Blanch. Blanch is also a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Reiki Master and yoga teacher.

The products are formulated with botanical extracts and plant oils, as well as clinically proven active ingredients including vitamins, peptides, vegan squalane, plant stem cells and hyaluronic acid. Blanch says each ingredient is meticulously researched and selected for its ability to soothe, balance and strengthen skin, “At the root of our CBD-infused line of skin care products is the belief that when our body finds homeostasis – balance – it benefits not only our overall wellbeing, but every organ within the body. Our process begins with the proper care and study of the Cannabis plants that lend themselves to our products and services.”

Color Up Therapeutics’ therapists, formulators and chemists work together to create products that are derived from cutting-edge scientific research. “Skin conditions reflect a body that is out of balance,” explains Color Up Therapeutics’ Director of Sales and Education Ella Cressman. “The endocannabidnoid system (ECS) regulates all the body’s major systems and the skin. The CBD in Color Up Therapeutics’ products works with the ECS system to correct imbalances within the skin and help regulate the life cycle of cells, leaving the skin more radiant, youthful and healthy. CBD’s anti-bacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties also aid in boosting overall complexion.”

Available through licensed estheticians & cosmetologists, spas & wellness centers and on, all products are made in small batches with ingredients sourced in the United States. The products, as well as esthetics & massage services, and classes are offered at Color Up Therapeutics’ CBD Wellness Center in Denver. Blanch adds, “We put our products into service by integrating bodywork, esthetics, yoga and other therapeutic modalities. We educate the community through workshops and events, as well as teaching CBD / Hemp classes at area schools. Our intention for our customers is to cultivate balance, harmony and ease by evoking the power of self-healing.”

Our Story

Color Up Therapeutics; an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Our process begins with the proper care of the plants that lend themselves to our massage oils, salves, lotions, and tinctures. We believe that the intuitive nature of gardeners complements that of the bodyworker so fostering a relationship between the two makes for knowledgable and effective healers. Our Therapists work alongside our Herbal Cultivators to infuse our products with loving and healing intentions, as well as to connect with the herbal medicine we use to treat our patients. It’s here that the magic begins, but it was decades ago that our collective love for plants, a more natural lifestyle, and the desire to heal ourselves from the inside out, began. As child athletes who grew into adult athletes, we all experienced injuries, aches, misalignments, and emotional pains that needed deep healing. We all come from very different backgrounds, yet we found ourselves making the collective choice to find relief and healing in a more natural and wholistic way. Our approach to growing our bodies and our plants has become simple – treat them with loving kindness and they will do the same; much like all things. Our love for staying active has collided perfectly with our love for plant medicine, subtle energy work, and hands-on bodywork – the integration of multiple modalities all aiming to provoke wellness.
